SDE Multiple
Seller's Discretionary Earnings reflects total financial benefit to an owner-operator. It's the standard for businesses under $5M in revenue where the owner is actively involved. SDE = Net Income + Owner Salary + Perks + Depreciation + Interest.
EBITDA Multiple
Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation & Amortization is the standard for larger businesses with professional management. It strips out the owner's personal compensation to show true operational earnings.
